Scenario A: Falling Stars
The sky has recently taken on a constant darkness above, though strangely enough, light persists for things that are observing from the ground. Thinking about it for too long is asking for a logic headache, so it’s probably best to just take it in stride and enjoy the view. The vibrantly colored auroras slowly dancing through the sky are quite the beautiful sight, with the glow of the strange objects moving with them resonating like stars. That one looks like it’s shooting across the sky - maybe if you make a wish, it’ll come true!
...Come to think of it, it looks like it’s getting closer, and fast. Maybe you should duck, or at least warn the person nearby that’s blissfully unaware of what’s incoming. The stars may only be as big and heavy as a volleyball, but they can still make quite the impact when they're falling fast enough.
Once the danger has passed, you'll have a miniature star all to yourself. It's hot, but you can touch it. Maybe you could think of something fun to do with it. Anyone up for a game of hot potato?
Scenario B: Let It Snow
The world is still trying to get the hang of weather, and snow is its latest venture. The snow itself is the part it seems to understand the best: snow is cold, snow can be compacted into shapes, snow falls from the sky in flakes, snow melts into water, water can also make ice, ice is hard and slippery...
What it doesn't seem to understand yet is how snow should collect - that is to say, not instantaneously. After only a few seconds of gently descending snowflakes, any area can suddenly be covered in a thick blanket of white as if it had been snowing for hours. If you happen to be sitting down you might find yourself buried under a snowdrift, or frozen to the ground if you're standing in water. The results can be even more disastrous if you're in water when the weather shifts - fortunately, breathing seems to be optional, so at least you won't drown if you decided to take a dip in the lake.
When the snowfall ends, the snow and ice vanish as suddenly as they had appeared. It may be awhile before that happens, though, so if you're caught in a tricky situation you may want to call for help.
Scenario C: A Tall Order
The Kichijoji Aerial District is mostly empty storefronts right now, but the large size of the rooms compared to the Merlaut Apartments has made them appealing as a place to call home. All they need is furnishing and cleaning and a big studio apartment could be yours. How hard could that be?
Well, the local wildlife has also taken a liking to the abandoned stores, and some of them can be trickier to evict than others. How did a winged giraffe get itself stuck here in the first place? How does it keep getting back in every time your back is turned? It's hard to say, but you'll need to figure something out if you don't want to start all over again with a new apartment. That, or you'll need to accept that your new roommate is a bit messy and likes to chew on your clothes.
Scenario D: Into The Unknown
At the edge of the known world is an infinite white expanse - the void, as people have come to call it. There doesn't seem to be much out there, so few have bothered to explore it further than the edges. What else could there be in a plane defined by its lack of substance, life and color?
Lately, however, something seems different about it. Far, far away, barely a glint in the endless sea of white... is something glowing out there, or is it just your imagination? Something about it calls to you, and you feel compelled to try to reach it. Yet no matter how far you walk it never seems to get close enough to see clearly, always just a distant flicker taunting you in the distance.
Before you know it, you're so far into the void you can barely see the silhouette of Mount Silver behind you. Do you keep trying, or is it time to turn back? Or are you the one chasing after someone else, hoping to stop them before they wander too far?

Ambertwo (Amber Fuji) | Pokemon (anime)
Having spent the entirety of her short life in the Kanto region, Ambertwo had never glimpsed an aurora before! She also only spent her first lifetime many years ago, outside, engaging with the real world, not kept alive in a lab... so she was enthralled with the beauty, colour, light, sounds, sensations and everything about being outside again all the same!
This just made it extra special!
The little girl in the fluttering, white dress watched the colours glow.
“It’s so pretty... I wish papa could see this...”
Are those shooting stars? They made her feel even more like he should see this, the way he spoke about them, but then... they got closer!! She stumbled backwards to avoid being hit by one, calling out to anyone else watching the scene (and possibly even trying to push them out of the way herself, although she isn’t strong enough to make them budge if they don’t want to!):
“Look out! Falling star!!”
C-2 - Can you help me free a winged Girafarig?
Ambertwo never much minded having a playmate that wasn’t a person! So she would adapt quite readily to her new roommate, asking for help getting it unstuck (“Excuse me, do you know how to help free a winged Girafarig from my window? It’s eating my curtains!” is something she’ll ask various people she’ll meet!), even reading a book to her winged giraffe, feeding it things tastier than curtains, and braiding its mane while it’s there!
Ambertwo was always patient.
C-3 - Skipping stones
Once her giraffe was set free, Ambertwo could be found taking it outside with her while she does things like skip stones on the lake (that is, if the stone doesn’t forget gravity and float away at some point, but that just makes it more interesting!)
Would anyone like to join in?
C-2 - Can you help me free a winged Girafarig?
[The tall brunette lamented with a groan before it the age of the asker fully dawned on him. Kaiba had a firm dislike already for pokemon and their trainers- well, primarily for their trainers but that still soured him on all related subjects. When he finally took a good look at the girl he felt a mild pang of guilt. A foreign feeling to be sure, but he did have a soft spot for kids despite how well he tried to mask it and this kid seemed to be younger than his brother.]
...
[After an extended pause as he raced through excuses of why he couldn't possibly help.. he didn't come up with anything he thought was good enough]
Hmph, fine. Lead me to where this.. creature is stuck.
no subject
[Happy he seemed to recognize them, the girl clapped her hands together, then smiled sweetly up at him.]
So you’ll help? That’s great...
[Despite the excitement at meeting someone else who knew of them here&mdssh;it really is quite mysterious how she hasn’t seen others—her voice som returned to a quiet softness. She isn’t a very energetic or loud child, so she won’t be too much of a hassle, Kaiba! She’s also not a trainer, really...]
I’ll take you there, big brother! Um, your name is...? I’m Amber!
[Kaiba didn’t look old enough to be called uncle or mister, so, big brother, then!
She didn’t really know whether it was best to introduce herself as that or Ambertwo or three or anything else, but at heart, she was always just Amber! And she’s outside again, so, she didn’t think it needed to be said.]
A
By instinct, by reflex, he immediately leans down and gathers her up into his arms, pressing her against one broad shoulder as he promptly turns around, rushing to put as much distance between the two of them and the falling star as possible. He doesn't stop until he hears it impact behind them, and he hazards a pause, turning around and looking back to see if the danger is gone.
It seems safe now, and the pounding of his heart, suddenly thundering in his ears, gradually begins to slow back down to its normal rate. He glances down at the girl, embarrassed to find that he's still holding her. His embrace is well-practiced; he's clearly held children around her age many times before. Still, he leans back down and opens one arm, still supporting her with the other -- a silent invitation for her to hop back down onto her own feet.
"Are you alright?"
[aw, professor ;~;]
The crisp fabric of the white lab coat... it made her heart hurt.
“Papa...” she murmured.
The sound was frightening, but not as bad as a car-crash, definitely, but the near-miss and the sound was still close enough to leave her shaking. She could hear his heartbeat too, until he allowed her to touch back down. A little bit shaken, she stepped gingerly down in white-sandaled feet, her breathing still unsteady, then looked up at him with a grateful, if apologetic smile.
“Thank you... I wanted to help you, but you ended up saving me. Are your legs okay?”
He seemed like a very old man, to her eyes, so she was worried!
He's a good Papa <3
"I'm fine, that's not even the fastest I've ever had to run away from something!" He laughs, the laugh of being glad to be alive, of chasing away fear -- not only for himself, but for her. There's no doubt that carrying her slowed him down, but he wasn't going to leave her behind. The possibility didn't even occur to him.
"I was more spooked than anything. That was pretty scary, wasn't it?" She seems pretty spooked herself, and for the two of them to begin to process their feelings about what just happened, it's important to first acknowledge them.
[a very good one ;3; ]
It was interesting seeing an adult admit to being scared himself, but he still seemed very strong!
“I was scared we’d get hit, but we made it.”
She tried to give him a pat on the shoulder. “You’re a very good runner! Papa doesn’t run so fast.”
Thinking back, the image was funny enough, that it helped her calm down and even laugh it off (it’s good that they made it!), so her attention then turned to the fallen star.
“... oh! Is that it?”
She imagined it would be bigger.
no subject
He'll allow her to pat his shoulder, or at least get as close as she can, and returns the gesture, resting his own hand on her smaller shoulder.
"I take care of lots of Pokemon, so I get lots of exercise every day." Or used to, anyway; but it explains why he can still run so fast at his age. He follows her gaze to the star, shining out of the small crater it made; he's really glad it didn't hit either of them, even if they can't die here.
"Do you want to take a closer look? We'll need to be careful." Normally, he'd be worried about radioactivity and other unseen dangers... but normally, actual stars aren't smaller than a person and don't fall out of the sky.
no subject
“Oh, I’d love to!”
Now that they weren’t in any immediate danger, the star looked so beautiful and she couldn’t help but be curious about it!
no subject
Eventually, they draw near enough that he crouches down next to the star; glancing back up at her, he reaches for the star. No sooner do his fingers brush against it, however, than he yelps and hisses in pain, quickly drawing them back and instinctively popping them into his mouth.
After soothing his fingers for a moment, he releases them, glancing down at his hand to survey the damage. To Amber, he clarifies:
"It's really hot. Don't touch it with your bare hands, okay?"
no subject
That looked like it really stung! Maybe they needed special tools to carry it, or gloves at least!
Amber looked at the star, then at the professor’s hands, then back at the star.
“Are you okay...? Did it feel like fire? Do you think I can carry it in my dress or will it burn... oh!”
She suddenly thought of something and crept closer to it.
“Doctor?”
She was assuming that’s what he was, since he wore a labcoat like her papa!
“What about that thing where you put a hot bowl of soup in a dish with cold water to help it cool down without making your noodles all watery?”
no subject
"Ah -- Professor." He gently corrects her when he realizes she's addressing him; while he technically does have a PhD, he thinks of medical doctors when hears the word, and doesn't want to cause any confusion.
"Something like that might work, but if we cool it down, it might stop glowing, too." He'd still be interested in studying it, of course, but it loses a lot of the romance without its glow. And where would they get cold water, anyway?
He pats around his pockets with his uninjured hand, coming up with a length of cloth -- a scrap of towel or the like. But he looks to her first:
"Did you have something in mind?" Does she have ice powers or something?
no subject
“Oh! Sorry, my papa’s a doctor, so I thought you were too. He was working on a project with a lot of other scientists. You dress like them!”
She brightened at the sight of the cloth, happy to have another option, but at the question, she blinked in confusion, then shook her head.
“No... I was just coming up with ideas! I didn’t even think this far... I thought I’d go looking for a pot big enough, maybe...”
No special powers yet!
no subject
"Is your papa the kind of doctor that makes people feel better? Or the kind of doctor that does research?" Hopefully she's old enough to know a word like 'research', especially if her father is a scientist.
Her cold water idea isn't completely without merit, as he points something else out:
"We're going to need some cold water anyway. For my burn. Luckily, I know where to find some."
((Now I'm wondering, if Sam hears the name of Amber's father... is he going to know who he is? (Not about the Mewtwo project, obviously, but his work before that.) Do you think he would be well-known enough for Sam to have heard of him, considering they're both scientists? That might be interesting to play with!))

[sorry for the delay!]
Is ok!
C-3
She comes to a stop to the lakeshore nearby, only briefly glancing at the giraffe as she starts filling a bucket with water; they're common around here, so not really worth her attention. She looks up in a double take, however, once she realizes that someone is standing beside the giraffe. Upon realizing even further that it is a child, she drops her bucket in surprise, and fumbles around in the water to pick it back up. Well, that's one way to fill a bucket....
Once she's got the bucket in her hands again, she looks around, then back to the girl.
"You all alone here, little lady?" Her voice has an odd reverb to it, like she's speaking with two voices at once... and with a noticeable 'cowboy' accent.
no subject
Poor thing!
Oh, now, she was speaking to her...!
“Uh-huh!” Amber nodded, but gave the winged giraffe a pet. “But I have a friend here too, so I’m not really alone...”
Amber tilted her head to a side. “Are you from the countryside?”
Did this place even technically have a countryside... well, maybe there’s one in this lady’s world!
no subject
At Amber's question, Indigo shakes her head. While she talks, she sets down her first bucket, and begins filling a second.
"Don't really know where I'm from. I was raised on Earth, though."
no subject
Amber petted its mane, but it didn’t exactly look like a caretaker, no!
Maybe she’d have one once settled in, but. Details.“You were? You’ve never met anyone else like you?”
She felt a bit bad for her!
“Do you want to sit with us?” Amber offered.
no subject
Again, she shakes her head in response.
"Not until I was a grown-up, anyhow." She's met other Novakid, just not until she left Earth.
Indigo takes the second filled bucket and sets it by her side, by the first.
"Jus' fer a little while. I've got work to do." Maybe someone else will come along and take over supervising for her.
no subject
Language barriers might not exist here, but did they exist for her on earth?
She looked back at the bucket. “Oops... is it really okay? What are you collecting water for, Miss...?”
no subject
And despite her lack of face and strange voice, there's some clear sadness in her about that. She didn't fit in among humans, but she doesn't fit in among her own kind either... it's lonely.
She nods to reassure the girl. What she's doing is a little time-sensitive, but not that time-sensitive -- she can stay for a while.
"It's fine, I can stick around fer a bit." As to what she's doing... "I'm runnin' a little experiment. If it turns out good, buildin' stuff around here is gonna be a lot easier."
[sorry for the looong delay, but, going through with the app this month, almost done! ^^]
Maybe Indigo had a little more in common with someone here?
“Oh, what kind of things are you building?” Amber asked, bright-eyed and curious. “Is it a house made of mud?”
Well, Amber only knew some houses were made of mud and clay... and that she could make a sandcastle with a tiny bucket or seawater or a little watering can, so she was just imagining that, but bigger!
[good to hear, I'm looking forward to it!]
As for the mud question... well, that's kind of close to what she's doing?
"Sorta! You know how clay is all soft an' moldable when it's wet, but when ya bake it it gets all hard?" That's not exactly what she's doing, but the concept of molding something soft and wet into the shape they want, then drying it so it becomes hard, is the same.
[Same here!! And thank you, you’ve helped a lot. ;3; It’s been so long since I’ve been in a ga
“Yes! Like the clay you mold into shapes? We molded clay into Pokemon for art class once, that was fun, but we just left it to dry, instead of baking it...”
<3
"Once yer done playin' here, do ya wanna help out? I can explain more about what I'm doin', and ya might even learn somethin'." Of course she's not considering asking Amber to do anything dangerous, but there a few ways she can make herself useful if she wants to. More importantly, Indigo will have an excuse to watch over her for a little while longer.
[it’s submitted! \o/ I just have to wait, now ^^]
[Whoo! \o/ Here's hoping <3]
[Yes, here’s hoping! ^^]
