Scenario A: No Rest For The Weary
Sleep is a brand new concept for the world, but there are still some hiccups that need to be worked out. As one gets tired, their eyes get heavy and the lights around them begin to slowly dim to mentally prepare them for rest... or, sometimes, the world forgets about those reminders. When this happens, it's not unlikely for someone to abruptly pass out on the spot when reality remembers they should be more tired right about now. It's an easy thing to overdo!
With these bouts of narcolepsy becoming an increasingly common problem, some of the more mischievous creatures of the world have begun to take advantage of it. If someone is unfortunate enough to fall asleep while outside, they're at risk of getting a new makeover from one of the wild painters, or shiny trinkets snatched by curious feathered dragons. There could also be something large and hungry roaming the area, or they might fall asleep in a precarious position. With so many ways for things to go wrong, it never hurts to bring a friend along when you're out and about.
There's also a very rare, very unusual occurrence where sometimes a person will fall asleep in one place and wake up deep within the tunnels of Mementos... but maybe it's just a case of sleepwalking? Although it is strange that no one ever seems to see it happen.
Scenario B: An Ode for a Gentle World 2: Electric Boogaloo
Whenever rain and lightning flash outside the electronics of the world begin to awaken. Though often unreliable thanks to their reliance on the weather, the few non-sentient machines in the world certainly have their uses. Trains carry people from place to place, and the computers offer a selection of programs for both work and play.
The jukebox in the Heavenly Blanc provides hours of "entertainment", for as long as the current storm ends up lasting. Music is something that's already been introduced to the world, but it seems that this time it's tried to put its own spin on things to questionable results. The songs it plays are, at first, the same few pop songs that have been taught to it, sung by an androgynous and generic-sounding voice. By the end of the first verse it starts adding new instruments - and it's apparently unsure of what does and does not count as an instrument. New lyrics have been added as well, featuring verses that are as likely to be random strings of nonsensical words as they are to be exact conversations that have been overheard tuned to fit the song. These new remixes are loud, confusing, and completely awful to listen to, only growing more chaotic as the track drags on.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to force the jukebox to turn off, and volume stubbornly turns itself back up every time thunder booms in the distance. But it does have a karaoke version, if you're into that.
Scenario C: Gotta Catch ‘Em All!
Poké Balls are the hottest new thing to hit the market! Try your luck at Shibumenosaki's gatchapon machines and you might even win yourself a Master Ball, the only ball with a perfect-catch guarantee*! The economy is fake and everything is free, so what do you have to lose besides your dignity?
Once you have your favorite Poké Ball, all that's left is to use it! The "using it" part may be much harder than the "getting it" part, however. There are several different species that currently roam the world, and though some of them can be quite docile, others range from feisty to downright dangerous. It might be better to start with a small bird before trying for a vicious finned dragon. Even if you succeed in catching a dangerous species, there's no guarantee it'll want to listen to you without a great deal of convincing. If you want to be a good trainer, you have to put in the work for it!
* 1/8000 odds, perfect-catch is not guaranteed, Shibumenosaki UA is not responsible for any harm caused by the use of their products

kimihiro watanuki - xxxholic rou - ota
(kimihiro materialized into the void - and just like that, he almost immediately fell asleep. he was not graced with a chance to process the change in scenery or even the fact that he's not in the shop, when under normal circumstances, he couldn't be. all he managed to do upon arrival is sit down with his barely opening eyelids and rest his back against the outer walls of the church, right next to the main entrance.
so yeah, here he is, a very hard sight to miss in a vibrant red kimono, just snoozing with a large tobacco pipe in hands. if that in itself is not strange enough, one may also hear the worried squeaks of mugetsu, a little pipe fox spirit wrapped around kimihiro's neck that currently is pressing its tiny little face against its friend's cheek.)
number two. 🎶
(it seems like the dimension he's currently in seems to block out his magic, given the following facts: he seems to be blinded in the golden, amber-colored eye, his spells don't work and mugetsu seems to be stuck in its tiny form... buuut, if he's here, there's a chance the shop is here too somewhere, so he's searching for it.
kimihiro walks as he takes a large drag from the pipe, just at the moment a large thunder echoes in the distance... and almost like clockwork, there's music coming from the establishment he's walking by. one may call it a coincidence, but kimihiro doesn't believe in those.
politely, he opens the door to the cafe... or is it a bar, but regardless, he's greeting the face he sees.)
excuse me, may i come in?
1~
It's been a hot minute since she's seen a new face, and boy does this one stick out in that red kimono. If it weren't for that, she might even mistake him for Ren. Just a little. He sure is knocked out, though...
Glancing to the left, and then the right, Ann shifts a little before she makes her way over to the poor young man, debating whether or not she should try to wake him. But a very cute... she doesn't even know what it is catches her attention with its little squeaks. Oh. ]
Hey. [ Maybe this guy is like. Really tired or something. She's not sure, but she also knows it's not good to just... be out here in the open, either. ] Excuse me... rise and shine?

Roland Crane, Ni no Kuni 2
This isn't where he expected to wake up, or even what he expected to look like when he woke up. After patting himself down and collecting himself, though, he's ready to start exploring this place. (It helps that this isn't the first time that something like this has happened to him.)
It's not long before he finds another person, lying on the ground dead asleep. He's already decided to approach and try to wake them up when a distant thundering, a shaking of the ground, demands his attention. Looking around, he finds the source; a herd of the blurrcobos, stampeding straight for them. If he wasn't planning on waking them up before, he certainly is now, as he runs straight for the still body.
"Wake up! Come on, wake up! You can't sleep here!" After reaching them and still finding no sign of stirring, he crouches by their side, pulling them up into his arms and desperately beginning to drag them away from the path of the stampede.
2. (Warning for nukes and trauma)
As he's exploring, the sky darkens with clouds and the smell of incoming rain fills the air, making his search for some sign of civilization somewhat more urgent. When the sky opens up, he's not really bothered; having his hair soaked through is a pain, yes, but his coat stands up well against the weather otherwise. No, what grabs his attention is the first bright flash of lightning. The light dazzles him, awakening memories he'd rather forget -- the bright speck streaking through the sky, like a firework going in the wrong direction, the blinding light of the explosion that sent his car, the entire motorcade, tumbling, the mushroom cloud that turned a prosperous metropolis into a post-apocalyptic hellscape in a matter of seconds --
By the time he recovers, his heart is pounding and he's panting for breath. Right... right. It's just lightning, not an explosion. No one's dying, he's safe. But just to make sure he stays that way, he'd better find shelter soon.
The music coming from Heavenly Blanc catches his ears when he draws near, and he eagerly makes his way inside. Wringing out his ponytail, he gives a slightly awkward but friendly smile and wave at whoever might be near, but if one looks closely, his dark eyes are still haunted by the little episode brought on by the lightning earlier.
2
This wording probably isn't helping Roland's trauma, but the girl at the jukebox might have a point. This isn't music more than it is noise. Highly unpleasant noise. The main melody appears to be scored for the shrieking honks of the Canada goose.
Viridi kicks it several dozen times to no avail.
"You know, it wasn't playing until you wandered in. You and that storm."

Haru Okumura | Persona 5 Royal
[And here Haru thought she would be able to find some answers to this strange new place. However, with each step she took, she found her eyelids getting heavier. She wasn't quite sure how or why this was happening but she just had to figure out what was going on. And yet, with each step, she was struggling.
What had happen into her? She thought to herself. Despite her lack of sleep at times, she normally wasn't this tired.
Finally, she couldn't take it anymore. Should one look around, one could find one teenage girl lying face down in the middle of the road.]

[There was something about this café that reminded her of LeBlanc. Outside of the similar names, it seemed like a nice and cozy place to stay once the storm had passed. That was until she heard some rather interesting sounds from the jukebox.
At first, she wasn't sure what to make of the odd combination of sounds and random instruments she was hearing. In her ears, it didn't sound awful. It just seemed strange in her mind. It was then she looked to a person nearby.]
Excuse me, do you know who owns this café? I would like a word with them about this jukebox. I was wondering what kind of music they were playing.
[Is this what people would call dubstep music??]

She's just making her way back out from the kitchen and around the bar when she hears the familiar voice, and her eyes widen, gaze snapping over to the familiar girl. It's so startling that she nearly drops the glass in her hand, but she doesn't, instead half slamming it down on the bar as she quickly makes her way over and throws her arms around poor Haru as if she hasn't seen the other girl in ages.

Eh- but as he drew near enough to make out some of the stranger's features he grimaced. For the few moments he had left before he would close the distance between himself and the girl, he went back and forth a few times on whether to stop or not.
... If it had just been a guy, preferably one he detested, it would have been easier to breeze on by without a second thought. Coming to a stop beside her, he kneeled down and looked for the characteristic rise and fall that would indicate breathing, then he debated his next course of action. Speaking with some volume to try and wake her he said the following:] Look- I don't think either one of us really wants me to have to pick you up, so it would be better if you just opened your eyes.
You can't sleep here. [Not with the monsters roaming around]

The Void surely loves Phantom Thieves, huh? He's not happy she too was kidnapped, but at the same time, he missed her a lot... Seems to be the feeling norm whenever someone just shows up.
He approaches her in concern, now noticing this was not a reaction to the Void but a forceful sleep, a hand pulling her upright gently so that he could help her sit up... She doesn't seem to be injured from the fall, so there's a relief, but he's still scanning in case something missed his eye.)

I think it's a remix. I've been sitting here for quiiite a while now, and that charming little machine's been adding this and that to its music since it started playing... It feels a liiittle weird to talk about it like it's like, you know, actually alive..? But like, I think it's totally trying to invent some new tunes to keep things fresh.

Ryuji Sakamoto || Persona 5 Royal
[Something tickled at his nose. It was just light enough that a scrunch was able to relieve the sensation. But then it came again…and again…and again—alright that was enough! Ryuji brushed his nose with the back of his hand, rubbing, rubbing, rubbing, until it felt better. Right, *now* he could get back to sleep…only…he was awake. He didn’t feel tired, and honestly, he didn’t really want to sleep anymore. He sat up and stretched, smacking his lips. Water. He wanted some water.
He looked around and spotted a river nearby. Feeling lazy, he tried to crawl to it, but then a rock dug into his shin.]
Ah--shit!
[He stood up and walked the rest of the way to the river, mumbling about the stupid rock. Who puts rocks in people’s paths like that anyway?
He crouched down by the edge of the river and scanned it for any fish or bugs…eh it seemed clear enough. He’d be fine. He leaned forward, hand cupped and ready to scoop up some water when he caught sight of his reflection…]
The hell?!
[Ryuji fell back on his ass, then scrambled to the edge of the river to see his reflection again. All across his face were various green markings. It looked like there was one on his nose that had been smudged. He rubbed at his face furiously.]
Aargh! What kind of person goes around just drawin’ on random people’s faces like they own ‘em!?

I LOVE YOU BABY! AND IF ITS QUITE ALRIGHT TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT AND WE ONLY HAVE TONIGHT BECAUSE WE’RE YOUNG BAAAABY!
[Ryuji didn’t know what song he was singing but he seemed to be doing well. He clung to the mic and smacked the jukebox in rhythm, at least, he tried to stay in rhythm. It felt he had sung three different songs, there had been no end. No pause to indicate a switch in songs. It felt like this song was going on forever…and his voice was starting to go a little hoarse.]
HOW ABOUT WEDNESDAY? DOES THAT WORK FOR YOU? NO? BABY, OKAY! WE’LL CUDDLE CAUSE IT’S COLD OUTSI—I can’t do this anymore! Here! Your turn!
[He looked around and passed the mic to the first person in the booth next to jukebox. Batter up!]

R0-GR | Star Wars | Open
[Deep in the void, but not so far that the parts of the world that have begun to exist are out of sight, one of the few B1 Battle Droids that lives in the era of the Resistance awakens. Very confused, he sits up and rotates his head as far as it will go in both directions, trying to assess his surroundings. Seeing that the mountain is the only landmark in the area, he gets up and begins walking towards it.]
[Soon after, he sees and hears the music on the floor of the void. He looks around, trying to identify the source of the singing, but finds nothing.] "Hello? Is someone there?" [he asks, with fear evident in his robotic voice. Still, he hesitantly moves forward. At least, until he hears a different sound, one that is more human than the singing of the void. Startled, he shouts,] "Gah! Please don't hurt meeeee!" [and tries to flee. He falls over, however, and and crawls away as quickly as he can before ducking and covering his head, his metallic body seemingly shivering.]

[R0-GR sits on the floor of the Heavenly Blanc, next to the jukebox, which he has completely taken apart. Still, the jukebox blasts the music as loudly as ever, despite Roger's best efforts to make it stop. He analyzes the machine's internal mechanics, utterly baffled.]
"How did they make technology this primitive so difficult to turn off?"
[Soon after he says that, he is seemingly able to adjust something in a way that causes the Jukebox to stop function.] "Aha!" [He says, but before he can celebrate further, lightning strikes in the distance. The Jukebox zaps Roger in such a way that he is launched into a table, and resumes playing at it's original volume.]
"I give up," [Roger says, dejectedly.]
