Scenario A: No Rest For The Weary
Sleep is a brand new concept for the world, but there are still some hiccups that need to be worked out. As one gets tired, their eyes get heavy and the lights around them begin to slowly dim to mentally prepare them for rest... or, sometimes, the world forgets about those reminders. When this happens, it's not unlikely for someone to abruptly pass out on the spot when reality remembers they should be more tired right about now. It's an easy thing to overdo!

With these bouts of narcolepsy becoming an increasingly common problem, some of the more mischievous creatures of the world have begun to take advantage of it. If someone is unfortunate enough to fall asleep while outside, they're at risk of getting a new makeover from one of the wild painters, or shiny trinkets snatched by curious feathered dragons. There could also be something large and hungry roaming the area, or they might fall asleep in a precarious position. With so many ways for things to go wrong, it never hurts to bring a friend along when you're out and about.

There's also a very rare, very unusual occurrence where sometimes a person will fall asleep in one place and wake up deep within the tunnels of Mementos... but maybe it's just a case of sleepwalking? Although it is strange that no one ever seems to see it happen.

Scenario B: An Ode for a Gentle World 2: Electric Boogaloo
Whenever rain and lightning flash outside the electronics of the world begin to awaken. Though often unreliable thanks to their reliance on the weather, the few non-sentient machines in the world certainly have their uses. Trains carry people from place to place, and the computers offer a selection of programs for both work and play.

The jukebox in the Heavenly Blanc provides hours of "entertainment", for as long as the current storm ends up lasting. Music is something that's already been introduced to the world, but it seems that this time it's tried to put its own spin on things to questionable results. The songs it plays are, at first, the same few pop songs that have been taught to it, sung by an androgynous and generic-sounding voice. By the end of the first verse it starts adding new instruments - and it's apparently unsure of what does and does not count as an instrument. New lyrics have been added as well, featuring verses that are as likely to be random strings of nonsensical words as they are to be exact conversations that have been overheard tuned to fit the song. These new remixes are loud, confusing, and completely awful to listen to, only growing more chaotic as the track drags on.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to force the jukebox to turn off, and volume stubbornly turns itself back up every time thunder booms in the distance. But it does have a karaoke version, if you're into that.

Scenario C: Gotta Catch ‘Em All!
Poké Balls are the hottest new thing to hit the market! Try your luck at Shibumenosaki's gatchapon machines and you might even win yourself a Master Ball, the only ball with a perfect-catch guarantee*! The economy is fake and everything is free, so what do you have to lose besides your dignity?

Once you have your favorite Poké Ball, all that's left is to use it! The "using it" part may be much harder than the "getting it" part, however. There are several different species that currently roam the world, and though some of them can be quite docile, others range from feisty to downright dangerous. It might be better to start with a small bird before trying for a vicious finned dragon. Even if you succeed in catching a dangerous species, there's no guarantee it'll want to listen to you without a great deal of convincing. If you want to be a good trainer, you have to put in the work for it!

[His words didn't seem to faze Haru at first. She simply laid on the ground as onlookers looked at her form on the ground. However, as he spoke a little louder, she could hear the faint sounds of his words. As she held her head, she slowly raised up from the floor with a small groan.]

What...?

[She mumbled to herself as she looked for the source of the voice. From there, she could see Kaiba before attempting to sit on her knees]

I'm sorry, I didn't catch what you said. Could you repeat it?

[It didn't really matter that she hadn't picked up on what he said, his words had the desired effect. As she drew herself up it became possible to examine her facial features which seemed delicate, perfectly framed by her curly auburn hair. It was superficial but she didn't look like the type to intentionally take a nap just.. wherever.]

Let's get you to shelter, then you can rest as long as you need. [Close enough]

Oh um...thank you! You didn't need to do that, I don't want to trouble you!

[Granted, that little bump on her head did wake up where she didn't feel quite as tired anymore. However, the help was much needed.]

Too late.

[A more polite person would have tried to have absolve her of any guilt. Too bad this was Seto Kaiba. At least there was no bite to his words. Standing back up, he waited for her to follow suit.]

Come on.

[bazooker]

But...

[Well. How was Haru suppose to react to such a blunt answer? A part of her wanted to argue against him but it seemed she didn't have much of a choice. With a sigh, she gave a small smile]

Very well. If you insist, show me where this shelter is. Thank you again for helping a stranger out.

[Her initial inability to find the words to respond to him gave him some minor level of enjoyment. It was not a malady he would have suffered from if roles were reversed]

[The apartments were so crowded now, Kaiba wasn't even sure if there was an open room available- and he didn't want to direct her to a less frequented area. Eh- the Heavenly Blanc café would do. So he started off in that direction, glancing behind briefly to see if she followed]

... If you feel faint again, say something.

Don't worry, I will!

[That and it seemed she didn't have a choice! As she continued to follow him, she was rather surprised at what this place had to offer. Between the cafe and the apartments, she wasn't expecting everything to be so cozy.

Although, now that she thought about it...]

I hope you don't mind me asking you this but mind if I ask where we are? I'm afraid I just suddenly woke up here and then felt the urge to fall asleep so I never had a chance to find out much about this place.

[At least she seemed to be a sensible person. That would make this more expedient and smoother. A little too timid perhaps but whatever. As they proceeded forward he wasn't surprised by what was asked.]

I rather expected it.

They just call it the highly inventive name, the void. [At least he offered of the next portion without further prompting] Initially, there wasn't anything here- and on the edges you can still find the traces of what it was like. Over time the environment bends, expands, and alters based in a large part by who has been gathered here.

The reasons for why we've been brought here are still unknown.

[Haru didn't respond back at first. It was a lot to take in as she took a closer look, there certainly was rather large gaps in their surroundings. With a worried look, she gave a small hum.]

I see. Then it would be safe to say the void can continue to grow based whomever comes here. [A beat. Suddenly, there was a realization in something] Wait, does this mean anything from their world too?

[If so, she rather not bring back the metaverse in this world, thank you!]

Presumably. [That really wasn't something he could answer with certainty.] .. if the pattern continues.

[The haste with which she posed the last question Kaiba found curious. Tilting his head he looked towards her as he posed one of his own.] What are you afraid of appearing?

[bazooker]

[Should she tell him? She wasn't sure if she should trust him with the information about the metaverse. But then again, what was there to lose by telling him?]

The metaverse. [She said in a serious tone] It isn't something I wish to see again as I fear something terrible might happen.

[blue_eyed_obsession]

[Surprisingly she doesn't withhold information from him. The terminology was already familiar to him but it prompts him to stop walking and turn towards her with a groan]

Another one? [Why was everyone from Ann's dimension?]

[Realizing she had no idea what he was talking about he added more] Heh- from what I've heard and witnessed I can't say that I blame you. [Then he turned on his heel and proceeded towards the cafe] Does this mean you're familiar with Amamiya and the others?

[bazooker]

[Well. That wasn't the answer she was expecting. Here, she was assuming he was going to ask various questions about the metaverse. And yet...]

Wait, you know about the metaverse? [She said with a rather surprised look. Although, what he said next created a bigger shock in her system]

I didn't know Ren-kun and the others were here too! I must have fallen asleep far longer than I thought if you know them! [Of course, this was her assuming they entered into this world at the same time]

[blue_eyed_obsession]

Mm, a bit. [It was more than he was letting on but the conversation had stemmed from something rather personal so he didn't want to go into much detail. Besides, having had a taste of Mementos he could draw from his own experiences now]

[Ren-kun. Why was everyone on such friendly terms with that guy?] I- don't follow. [Just pointing that out now] They've been here for far longer than you, but let me guess.. you've seen them recently thereby creating a time discrepancy?

There are plenty of those already.. what's one more?

[bazooker]

Yes, I did see them but I was not aware time discrepancy was a daily occurrence.

[It seemed rather odd. If they were longer here than she had, how was she able to see them in her world at the same time?]

I must admit, this is rather confusing. I wonder how it is possible when I saw them in my world not too long ago. [Not only that, she just felt bad for being so new to everything around her]

[Even with time being somewhat easier to track now. Unfortunately, he didn't have the answers she was seeking but in his defense no one did]

I believe that's by design. [Whoever was behind this, assuming there was a central party, wanted to keep them bewildered and confused] Not sure. [Admitting it plainly] .. but you'll be able to compare notes with your friends.

[It was only a little farther to the cafe, so he proceeded towards it. It might have looked familiar to her- in part since it was cobbled together from Leblanc cafe and Seventh Heaven]

I see. It appears there is much to understand about this world...

[She said before trailing off. She didn't know much about this place but she would like to go back home quickly. There was a certain someone she had to face, after all.

Although, as soon as she saw the building, her eyes widen.]

Wait, isn't that Leblanc? [A pause] Or I think it is.

[It seemed like it was the café from her world and yet, it looked so different. Was this what Kaiba meant about taking pieces of their world here?]

.. And much left to discover, unfortunately.

[Though he wanted to argue about this actually being another 'world' he decided not to squabble over something so minor. It was easier at times to just... call it that.

When she drew silent, he looked towards her again catching that flash of recognition]

In part- it's at least been made to look like Leblanc.

[It certainly was what he meant by that. When they drew near enough, he at least opened the door and waited for her to enter first]

[There was so much to undercover in a short period of time. As she gave a small 'thank you' as she walked into the café, there was a sense of familiarity in this strange world. With that, she gave a small sigh of relief.

And yet, there was a hint of sadness behind it.]

I noticed. It seems familiar and yet, it doesn't. I suppose I can't argue how there is a sense of comfort knowing my friends are here.

[Was it selfish of her to wish such a thing?]
