July Intro & Plotting Meme
July Intro & Plotting MemeAs this is our very first app cycle, everyone is new! We encourage everyone to fill out the form below to introduce themselves and their characters.
The first IC event log will be posted on July 15th, introducing the game's first round of imprints. We don't have a setting yet for anyone to play in, so please sit tight until then!
We'd also like to give a final reminder that everything on the May and June TDMs are non-canon, as the imprints used for the TDM setting will not all be carried over. You are welcome to discuss and handwave IC introductions between characters based on their TDM interactions, but any locations, creatures or special effects used exclusively for the TDM may not be remembered by characters.
Player: Your name, or whatever handle you'd like everyone to call you by.
Contact: If you don't want to post it publicly, you may also direct others to the locked Player Contact page.
Timezone: To make plotting a little easier, what part of the world are you in?
Interests/About: Tell us a little about the player behind the character!
Character: Your character's name.
Canon: The canon your character is from.
About: Tell us a little about your character! What they look like, how they act, anything interesting about them - whatever you think other players should know!
General Plans: Does your character have any immediate or long term plans? Any roles you need filled in personal plots?
CR Planning: Is there any specific type of CR you're looking for, or CR your character might be able to provide for others? Is there anything you're not looking for?
Imprint Planning: Is there anything you want to work towards with your character's imprints? Do you have a few ideas you’re trying to decide on, or are you looking for suggestions?
Other: Anything else you want to add? Try to keep any images and gifs at a reasonable size so they don't stretch the page!

I'm currently going crazy because there's been hints dropped that we might be seeing MORGAN soon in FGO jp and aaaaaahhhhh won't THAT be interesting....Brat who's old enough to have seen the turn of the millenium twice, so far.
... You know I was about to answer and then I realized I need to clarify, you mean Emiya as in Shirou?
no subject
That would certainly complicate things further!Oh gawd. Kaiba doesn't want to hear the word Millennium.
You know, in hindsight I should have clarified. There are more than one (There's the whole Emiya family and the hero, etc etc). If I were truly evil I would say: GUESS. But yes, I mean Shirou Emiya.

Don't ask Merlin his age, then!
YEAH I just wanted to be sure! There's a reason why nowadays much of the fandom uses "Shirou" and "Kiritsugu" or so on instead of just Emiya. XD But hmmm, see, you'll get to know more about him as you go through the different series I think, but he's tricky. He's the POV character in the original VN so of course there's some degree of being, y'know, the character that the player is meant to experience the story through, but he was always designed with a distinct personality and motivations, etc. And at the start of the grail war he's just plain clueless so that doesn't help matters either! Buuuut when you take more time to really look at his character, read into his background and the thought processes behind his attitude, there's actually a lot more there than there appears at first glance. And then you start seeing more later as he gets a more active role, but a lot of stuff was there from the start. He's an interesting character to go back and re-examine after you know more about him, in other words, and can pick up on the little things that are easy to overlook.
Like the fact that he probably has some form of PTSD, what with having been orphaned by the aftermath of the previous grail war and all. Just, y'know, as one thing to consider! :D

Kaiba wouldn't believe his age anyway!
I would have been fine if you'd replied speaking about either one of them though! Yeah- so far Shirou is a snore for me, and unfortunately he's the main focus. Like, I get that he wants to be a hero and help others and all that jazz and he is mechanically inclined but I'm just like.... less Shirou would be good. Lol! Like- he makes Keiichi Morisato look better (from Ah my Goddess)... although truthfully I do like Keiichi so maybe it's not a fair comparison. I am not sure the later content will be able to turn me around on Shirou. We will see when I eventually make it there!
I definitely should think so with the memories he does have. That would be kinda hard to avoid.

Kaiba sure doesn't believe a lot of things. And it's not even a healthy skepticism, either! Just flat-out denial and refusal to consider it.
I think part of the problem is that in the original VN he's the pov character. Which means everything is filtered through him and the player would KNOW what he's thinking even if it's not obvious from his words/actions. So when that gets adapted to anime and you lose that connection a lot of context goes right out the window. But I'd say he's definitely interesting when you dig into the whole "never got over the trauma he experienced and all his behaviors/attitudes are trying to cope with it" perspective on things. He's pretty messed up in the head, in other words, but it's not so obvious externally.

P. Much. I mean canonly he goes out of his way to deny things that don't mesh with his own beliefs. Literally is shown a vision, claims it's mind games, etc.
Yeah that likely doesn't help matters. Not sure the trauma makes him interesting though. I mean just having a tragic past doesn't automatically give him a free pass. Like I love Magnum p.i. (the original) and he clearly has issues related to his experiences in Vietnam... But then he's also awesome. Change my mind Shirou! I made it through season 1! It is nice seeing more Rin, ok. She had some funny quotes in the 'date' episode

I RPed the protag in another game and oh boy was some of that character development fun.So you're saying that if/when Merlin gets his powers back he should haunt the heck out of Kaiba's dreams. :D
It's more in how once you know his full backstory you start noticing all the little details that weren't obvious before. But that doesn't really do much for seeing it the FIRST time around, haha. And hey, if you've made it that far, it should only be easier to get through the rest from here now!

As long as you aren't an Egyptian lady with a gaudy gold necklace, fine. Lol! Kidding. Kaiba would not enjoy this but it could be amusing.
We're in the home stretch on this one!

He'll just have some pale-furred monster showing up giving him hell. Except the dreams just end up super weird rather than full-blown nightmare because Merlin's a troll like that.
Go go~

ROFL! Course Merlin is!
I never hear anyone talk about the magical girl spin off. Like im assuming it's separate unto itself, but I don't know if it's supposed to be good, bad, or indifferent
no subject
One night Kaiba has one of those "suddenly naked in front of the whole class" dreams except he looks down and he has boobs for some inexplicable reason.
Ahhh that's probably because that spinoff suffers from uh. a lot of very fanservicey shots of a lot of very clearly underage characters. Plenty of people like it for the storytelling and such, but even some of the big fans get a little turned off by the blatant fanservice elements.

That's just too cruel XD. I mean at least there is Femme!Kaiba fanart. This is totally safe for viewing btw. I did not try to find something to emulate what was being discussed.
Oh ick! I didn't know that! I really hadn't heard much of anything about it, save that it exists. I got uncomfortable with some of the shots in Lyrical Nanoha, so that might not be for me. LOL. The irony is I was looking at the "I watch it for the plot" meme on the meme origin site just today.
no subject
If by too cruel you mean too hilarious!
YEAH that's... why it doesn't get talked about much. Too much perv-attracting potential. Which is kinda unfortunate but what can you do?
no subject
I do indeed!
I'm both glad that I asked and sorry. It's like- it's better to know now than like later if I attempted to watch the thing. Now I can avoid it!

Kaiba wakes up the next morning questioning many things about his subconscious, hehehe.
I think I heard there was a manga adaptation that miiiight not be as bad? But I don't know if I'm remembering correctly and I haven't looked into it deeply myself.
no subject
Kaiba wakes up, immediately looks down to see that he's clothed and still a male... THEN questions his subconscious. I fixed it for you. XD.
It's like a black sheep to the franchise. Here I thought it might be more lighthearted or something, but it's just skeevy.

I'm getting the impression that if Merlin ever becomes able to use his dream powers again, I'm going to have to offer to plot out stupid shenanigans like that for people..... :D
I MEAN, that's not all there is to it! But its merits tend to be undermined by the... yeah. Like, you know how "mana transfers" are a thing in the Fate/ universe in that apparently magical energy readily dissolves into bodily fluids? One of the (clearly QUITE young) characters is known to drain mana from people by kissing them. And is kind of overt about this. So yeeeaaah.
