Even more surprising is that he actually finds Tifa inside, and a part of him is relieved to see her. He's sure he could have handled being here all alone (or so he likes to think), but the thought of Tifa being stuck here all on her own sounded much worse to him.
There's an awkward pause as both of them realize how utterly weird this is, but ultimately he plays it cool as he takes her up on the offer. There could be every chance that he's just dreaming this up anyway, so there's no need to make a fool of himself (even in his dream!!) ]
