When they toss another fireball his way, his hands extend to catch it out of reflex and not because he wants to play their childish game, but-
They take it differently. Now he's playing with them and anyone nearby can probably hear the Hey! and Knock it off and play your games elsewhere, all while he's clutching the flaming ball in his hand.
Eventually, he settles on just throwing it as far as he can, hoping that they react like a group of dogs to track it down.]
